Was Bass Reeves- The Lone Ranger?
Was the real Lone Ranger in the Wild West a former slave turned lawman who worked for the US Marshals Service for 32 years, a man called Bass Reeves? Bass was a lawman, an expert tracker and detective although he was illiterate. Bass who was a lawman at the turn of the 20th century brought some of the worst outlaws of that time to justice. Bass spent 32 years working in Indian Territory of what is now eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. Art Burton studied the life of Bass Reeves and created the legend of the Lone Ranger.....
